AUG.25,2009 East Orange Fire responded to the corner of N.Grove Street & William Street on a reported fire. On arrival fire was showing from the 2nd floor of a large 3 story brick OMD. DC Daley Struck Three Alarms due to heavy fire and numerous occupants at the windows on side B and C of the fire building. The fire on the 2nd floor extended to the 3rd floor and cockloft as numerous ground ladder rescues were being conducted. The evacuation was ordered and outside lines were used to knock down the heavy fire. Firefighters reentered the fire building to resume interior attack but conditions deteriorated and the evacuation was ordered a second time. Master streams were set up as fire took control of the cockloft and ran the structure. Companies operated into the next day hitting hots spots.
