July 26,2009 The Newark Fire Department responded to 288 Sherman Avenue on a reported fire. On arrival heavy fire was showing through the roof from a 2 story commercial building. DC Smith struck Four Alarms during the incident to control the fire and protect exposure buildings. Exterior operations were used through out the incident. A Battalion Chief was seriously injured as a result of falling through the roof of the exposure building. | |
