The City Of Orange, NJ Fire Department responded to 173 Taylor Street on a reported house fire. On arrival heavy smoke and fire was showing from a 2.5 story wood frame dwelling. Interior lines advanced to the upper floors. As conditions deteriorated, DC Hector ordered the evacuation of the fire building and master streams were set up. Mutual Aid from West Orange, East Orange, and South Orange responded to the scene. Mutual Aid companies were ordered to bring in water, protect exposures, and supply a FAST Team. One LP, one deck gun, and two Blitz Nozzles were put to work on the fire as it consumed the upper floors and burned through the roof. No injuries were reported on scene. Relocations for at least three occupants were needed. The fire was under control in 60 minutes with units remaining on scene hitting hot spots and overhaul operations.
