Apx 10:42 Hours, The Bloomfield Fire Department notified Montclair Fire of a house fire on the corner of Forest Avenue & Overlook. Glen Ridge PD units arrived soon after and confirmed a working fire with possible entrapment. With a car parked in the driveway of the residence and heavy smoke pushing from the home, police officers attempted to enter the house to evacuate occupants but were driven back by the heat and smoke. Montclair Truck Co.1 arrived on scene an reported heavy smoke showing from a 2.5 story wood frame dwelling. Interior lines were advanced through the front door as Truck 1 vented the 1st floor exterior. Heavy fire was venting out sides B,C,and D as the interior line pushed in on the fire. Truck Co.2 arrived and laddered the 2nd floor with a ground ladder to search the 2nd floor bedrooms. The owner of the home made phone contact and reported no occupants were in the house. All searches were negative and the fire was quickly knocked down on both the 1st and 2nd floors in minutes. Mutual Aid from East Orange, Bloomfield, and West Orange responded to the scene and assisted with overhaul of the fire building. Two Firefighters received minor injuries working the job.
