FEB.5,2009 The City of Orange,NJ transmitted the box for a fire reported at 150 Hickory Street. The Deputy reported heavy smoke visible while in route. On arrival the "Dep." reported a working fire in a vacant 3 story frame and transmitted the Signal 11 putting All Hands to work. An 1.75 line was stretched to the 2nd floor but was ordered out as conditions worsened. The Evacuation of the fire building was ordered and a 2nd Alarm was struck due to exposure problems. Mutual Aid from West Orange and East Orange were put to work on their arrival. West Orange brought in a feed to side A and East Orange Engine 4 set up on Side C from Central Place with 2.5 inch lines. Fire extended into Exposure B a 2.5 wood frame occupied and was knocked down with interior lines. Companies remained on scene though out the day hitting hot spots on the main fire building.
