The City of Newark,NJ transmitted the box for a fire reported at On the 500 Block of South 16th Street off 15th Avenue. On arrival heavy smoke was showing from a 2.5 story wood frame dwelling. Heavy fire was showing from the rear and had already extended into both Side B&D Exposures. The 2nd Alarm was struck on the arrival of DC1 followed by a Special Call for two additional engine companies. Interior lines had the main body of fire knocked down in all three buildings within 15 minutes. An ember sparked a second fire on 15ht Avenue at S.17th Street in a wood frame. A Signal 9 consisting of 2&1 and a BC responded to knock down a fire in the roof line. There was a porch collapse in the rear of the main fire building during the operation. One firefighter was was transported by EMS after falling through a floor. As you can see from the photos, Newark made another fast stop!
