FIRE IN A 2.5 WOOD FRAME

May 2,2009 The City of East Orange,NJ Fire Department transmitted the box for a fire reported at 93 Marcy Ave off Prospect Street. While in route a back up call came in reporting a fire with occupants on the top floor. Engine Co.3 arrived and reported smoke showing from the 1st floor of a 2.5 story wood frame. DC1 arrived and transmitted the Signal 11 putting All Hands to work. Engine Companies 3&1 stretched lines to the front door as Truck 1 opened up and forced entry. Companies mounted an aggressive interior attack as heavy fire involved the 1st floor of the duplex. Rescue 1 entered and conducted searches above the fire. All searches were negative. The fire was under control in 10 minutes and was held to the front half of the 1st floor. A fast stop by EOFD Tour 1. | |
