Engine 9 to Headquarters "Urgent" transmit the box for heavy smoke in area of our quarters. A knock on the door woke up the Summer Avenue Firehouse reporting the fire. The exact location was not known but heavy smoke blanketed the area of the firehouse. Engine 9 located a vacant 2.5 wood frame house a few houses up at 64 Kearny Street with smoke showing. An interior line was stretched to the 1st floor and worked the fire by 9 Engine. Ladder 7 checked the 2nd floor and confirmed some fire extension as Engine 15 brought a backup line. BC3 then transmitted the Signal 11 putting All Hands to work. Ladder 1 vented the roof as companies conducted primary and secondary searches. The fire was brought under control in 10 minutes and companies were in the process of taking up soon after. An Arson Signal was transmitted for cause and determination. EMS staged on scene. No injuries were reported. .
