FIRE ON ALL FLOORS

APRIL 7,2009 At 07:03 hours on Tuesday, April 7th, fire dispatch transmitted Station 1448 for a reported fire located at 491 So. 17th St. Dispatch also reported that there might be children trapped in the building. Special Ops 1, who was traveling into work at the time, immediately reported heave smoke in the area. Engine 11 arrived on the scene and reported a working fire in a 2 1/2 story frame with fire on all floors. A signal 11 was transmitted for this job. Due to the partial collapse of the rear top floor, an evacuation order was transmitted. After knocking down the fire with exterior lines, an interior attack again commenced. After a search of the building there was no one found inside. It was then reported that all occupants were accounted for.
