JANUARY 17,2009 East Orange Fire Department responded to 77 N.Clinton Street on a reported fire. On arrival heavy smoke was showing from an occupied 2.5 story wood frame 25x40. Interior lines were advanced into the 2nd and 3rd floors to attack the fire. Truck Companies opened the roof and cut away security bars on the 2nd floor. During the initial interior attack, the 2nd floor ceiling collapsed on an engine company and a Mayday was broadcast over the radio. All firefighters were ok and the Mayday was canceled.
