DECEMBER 17, 2008 Newark Fire Department transmitted Box 1438 for numerous reports of a house fire at South 10th street & 12th Avenue. On arrival heavy fire was showing from the 1st and 2nd floors of a vacant 2.5 story wood frame dwelling. BC1 transmitted the Signal 11 putting all hands to work. Lines went to work on all floors knocking down all visible fire. The fire was placed under control in 20 minutes. 2&1 remained on scene to complete overhaul operations. Dan Keenan Photos |
