November 27,2008 The Orange,NJ Fire Department transmitted the box for a fire in the area of Ridge & Chapel. On arrival DC Dowd reported a fully involved 1 story brick storage building apx 200 feet inside the cemetery. A water supply was established and a 2.5 attack line was hand stretched up a driveway inside the cemetery. The heavy fire was darkened down then the line was broke into a 1.5 line to go interior. DC Dowd transmitted the Signal 11 putting All Hands to work. Fire extended to the electrical service energizing the structure. A few firefighters felt some electric current running in the building. DC Dowd ordered all firefighters out and away from the structure until PSE&G arrived to cut the service. After that the fire was mopped up. It appeared a squatter may have occupied the structure. Fire investigator was requested to the scene. | |
