OCTOBER 23,2008
The Orange,NJ Fire Department transmitted the box for a house fire reported on North Jefferson Street. On arrival smoke was showing from a 2.5 story wood frame dwelling. Fire was running the ceiling and walls in the rear over the kitchen area. Interior lines were stretched and Truck 1 found a nice shot for the rear roof from a side driveway. Command transmitted the Signal 11 putting All hands to work. West Orange Engine 2 was assigned the FAST Team. Heavy fire continued to run the walls and roof of the 2 story setback extending up the rear wall to the third floor. Command struck the Second Alarm bringing Mutual Aid from Irvington, Millburn, East Orange, and Montclair to the scene. (maybe more?) Units had a full work load opening up and chasing pockets of fire on the 2nd and 3rd floors. The fire was under control in 40 minutes.
