JANUARY 24,2008 Around 20:10 hours, the Newark Fire Department transmitted the box for a fire reported on Seymour Avenue Between Avon & Clinton Avenues. While in route the units were advised of police activity in the area with numerous NPD Units involved in a foot chase involving a possible arson suspect. On arrival of Engine Co.12 heavy fire was showing from the 2nd and 3rd floors of a 3 story wood frame vacant structure with an exposure on side D. Interior lines were advanced to both floors and the fire was quickly knocked down contained to the 2nd fl room and 3rd fl room directly above. The fire was held to a Signal 11 with companies picking up in 15 minutes. Newark PD had one suspect in custody ofter a foot chase. | |
