DECEMBER 19, 2008 Orange Fire Department responded to the area Monroe & S.Jefferson Street on a reported fire. On arrival heavy fire was showing from the rear of a row of garages with exposure problems. Command transmitted the Signal 11 putting all hands to work and bringing West Orange Engine 1 to the scene. Lines were stretched to attack the fire and protect the exposure homes. Fire involved a small rookery occupied by 2 occupants and extended to the garages. It was reported a candle may have started the fire. The fire was under control in 30 minutes and the Red Cross was requested to relocate the occupants. Rob Munson Photos |
