November 27,2008 Apx 0100 hours West Orange Fire Department Started out the Thanksgiving Holiday with an early morning house fire. Units were dispatched to 466 Vally Road on a reported House Fire. PD arrived and reported a fire on the 2nd floor with occupants trapped above. PD entered the home to assist occupants out of the building. Two lines were stretched into the fire building and searches were conducted on all three floors. Command requested Orange FD to the scene with an engine company and assigned them the FAST Unit. Horizontal and Vertical Ventilation was completed and the main body of fire was knocked down in 10 minutes. Due to tin ceilings on the 2nd floor, extensive overhaul was needed. The Orange Engine was put to work to relieve a West Orange Unit conducting overhaul. Tin ceilings were pulled exposing fire running under the 3rd floor. Lines were put in place knocking down all fire. Essex County OEM was on scene to assist with Mutual Aid Move ups an Cover Assignments.
